Eclipse

So it is no secret how I feel about the Twilight book series.  I am not a big fan.  I read all 4 books in 4 days.  I had to force myself to read them.  I did not like how the character of Bellas is written.  She comes across as whiny, boring, and way too dependent on her man/vampire.  She has no lie with Edward in it.  I think she needs to get a life and function without him.  She has no business being in a relatinoship if she can not stand on her own two feet.  But that is just my opinion.....

However......
the movies are so much fun!  I love them.  I love going to to see them, and then watching them over and over.  They are just good, cheesy, predictable fun!

Eclipse opens tomorrow night at midnight.  and yes, I have my tickets.  My sister Jen and I have front row balcony seats.  A friend on mine from high school is also coming along as well.  I think it will be great fun.  I have my vampire girl t-shirt.  The only down side to the whole mindnight showing.  I have to stay and work after......

but today I will be grateful that I have a job and even more grateful that my boss is not makig me work during the actual showing so I was able to get tickets to enjoy the show!

Double Trouble

I married into a family with many sets of twins.  My hubby's uncle has 2 sets of twins (out of his 10 kids).
Two of thos kids have twins of their own.  His great grandmother was a twin.  And his family history is full of double trouble, including a set of twins named Homer and Omer.  Yes, I am serious about the names.
In my family history, we have found one set of twins, and they were brought in by marriage.
So ten years ago when we found out we were having twins, I cried for two days.
I was completely shocked!  and excited!  and terrified!
But since then, I have learned to appreciate the unique challenges of raising two kids at once.
I have certainly learned to appreciate the humor that comes with twin pops.
My mom just sent me this picture.
HOW TWINS ARE REALLY MADE

So today I will be grateful for the adventure of having two kids at once!

Music to my ears

Last Saturday Citrne sang at the Highland games at Thanksgiving Point.  It was soooooo cold!  It felt like it was going to rain all day.  We sang under the same pavillion as the food vendors.  It pretty much garunteed us an audience.  We sang at 10 am and 1 pm.  The first show had almost no one there watching us.  The festival had just opened and people were still setting up.  It was a great warm up for us.
The second show had a packed crowd because it was lunch time and the lines for food were really long.   People sure seemed to enjoy what they were hearing though.  One giant man in a kilt actually called out requests!  Then he sang along with us.  It was fun to see him enjoying the music.

The games themselves were really fun to see.  I walked around al ittle bit between shows.  Each Scottish clan sets up there own booth.  Many just have a bit of the clan history, some have things for sale, others have things to do.  I called my dad to double check which clan we belong to.  We are a sub-sect of the MACKAY clan.
I stopped by the MACKAY tent and talked to the guy there.  He gave me a brief but colorful history of the clan colors and the how our tartan has evolved.  It was fun to hear.

So today I will be grateful for family history and the unexpected places where you find family.

School is out.....now what?

Okay, so yesterday was the last day of peace school for my kiddos.
Summer has officially started for them.
Now what?
I am not so sure I am looking forward to a long summer break.
I am glad they are with me more, but I will miss being able to sleep when they are at home.
